IPOH, Jan 6 (Bernama) -- Six students and two staff of Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP) will depart for Padang, Indonesia on Jan 16 for a four-day humanitarian mission to help victims of the powerful earthquake last year.
The mission is in collaboration with the university's Students' Representative Council and Residential College Support Unit.
The mission's director Muhammad Akram Ismail said while there, the team would hand over assistance in the form of cash, daily essentials and clothing.
"Throughout the four-day maiden mission, the UTP delegation members will work with agencies and voluntary bodies in Indonesia to provide aid to the victims," he told Bernama.
Muhammad Akram said mission members would also take part in rebuilding damaged infrastructure as well as houses.
